Erik Schokkaert is professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven. His research focuses on distributive justice, health insurance, optimal taxation, social security and altruism. Recent applications include fairness in cost-benefit analyses, preferences for redistribution and social structure, wellbeing inequality and preference heterogeneity, out-of-pocket payments and subjective unmet need of healthcare, and putting measures of individual well-being to use for ex-ante policy evaluation.
